"What you think you become, what you feel you attract, what you imagine you create" -Buddha
Have you ever heard the Buddha quote ‘what you think you become’? The same thing holds true to your arm balance practice! How you think is how you show up, and how you think during your practice is a good indicator to what is happening on your mat (and off!).
Oftentimes we’re thinking ourselves into feeling stuck or stagnant without even realizing!
If you’ve ever thought to yourself…
“These poses are impossible.”
“I’m not strong enough.”
“Only really flexible people can do that.”
“If only I were more fit…”
“I’ll never be able to do this.”
…you are THINKING yourself OUT of making progress.
Let me ask you: Where ELSE in your life are you thinking yourself from stepping into what you’re truly capable of? Why? What are you afraid of if you DO accomplish this thing? What are you afraid of if you DON’T accomplish this thing?
When we begin to break down the layers of who we are and WHY we’re thinking the way we’re thinking, we can start to shift.
Many of us operate from a scarcity mindset of ‘if I HAVE the thing first, only then can I BE and DO what I want.’
So, how do we flip the script? By BEING.
You want to build strength? Do the drills that help you have the strength.
You want more flexibility? Do the stretches that result in having the capability.
You want to have a successful career and relationships? Do the work to develop better interpersonal skills so you can have the result that you want.
You must operate from the place of BEING who and what you want in order to have it.
If you give yourself the opportunity to unlock your mind, you’re guaranteed to unlock your practice.
